I live in Sicily and i'm a collector of Militaria, mi home is about 30 miles from the canadian cemetery of Agira and a lot of mi piece of collection are recoverd by metal-detecting, and are objects used during husky operation..99% i recovered U.S. and American items, but sometime i dont know the nationality of some of it...are Canadian??
this (fuel or oil?) box was recovered in a farm near Caltanissetta. The top of it and the way to welding it remember me a Canadian box...are about 2gallons...
please help me..

the smell inside, it's like olive oil, but probably was reused by the farmer..
i have put it in a solution of ossalic acid, and after 4 hours become visible some part of field-green...
