I thought I would share this 1941 Mk II with you gents I found it an interesting example the shell was manufactured by General Steel Wares and is so marked Mk I steel batch code " O " it is sporting a VMC 41 dated liner in a size 7 1/4 it came with an earlier 1 variation woven camo net with the deep merrowed edge IMO this net has been on this helmet for decades as it has left a ghost impression on the shell from were the net had been resting against the helmet body.
When I removed the net from the helmet to take some photographs I was quite surprised that the net retained its shape (memory of the helmet ) which is another good indicator it has been on the shell for eons .
Regards Mark
