Hi guys,
Picked this up the other day. It is a Mk IV gas mask. It is C arrow marked as is the 1929 dated carrier. It is different from the WWII mask in the following ways. The filter can is dated 1930. It was originally painted a tan colour and appears to have been repainted when in Canadian service. The eye pieces are not removable. Most references say that by the early 1930's this type of mask had removable lenses but these eyepieces are 1937 dated. The carrier is the Mk 1 as was used in WWI. This carrier is made of a softer linen that the standard haversack. I believe this is a very rare set. Any comments welcomed.
All the best,
