Thought I would let you see the boots I picked up last week. A real barn find. The mouse that was living in them made himself quite a home. I was able to get the boot back to reasonable standards, standing vertical again. One boot is marked on the inner sole. Looks like McFarlane? 1943. The other sole is not marked, but looks like it was possibly replaced at some time? As I was cleaning I also noticed that the leather straps across the front are two different thicknesses? Not an expert but I assume these were made by a few different contractors? Kind of neat that I might have a mixed pair. The bottom soles are quite brittle, with one of the heel plates loose but not off. All in all I think a fine representation though....
