    Sten gun Empty Sten gun

Post by Infanteer Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:22 pm

Just received a new dewat Sten MK II in the mail today. This one is dated 1942 and has the T stock. My other Sten with the loop stock is dated 1944 and has Chinese characters as it was originally made for the Chinese contract but then not sent. Both of these dewats came from the same source and are full cock and click.

Sweet looking plumbers nightmares! Wish mine was a longbranch...they seem to be worth more than the Brit models.

Ya, I've noticed the price difference too and I think that's it's more of an issue here in Canada as many collectors of Canadian militaria want the Long Branch made guns whereas collectors in the US and elsewhere don't seem to care as much. The other factor that affects value is if the gun is a cock and click or one of the newer dewats which are welded up solid.

Very nice addition to the collection. I have yet to pick one up. I was hoping to get one soon but my lovely wife and children have decided that we need wireless highspeed at home more than I need a DEWAT sten :( looking at $1200.00 for the tower and all the other crap needed

Well, that's a tough one Cliff. On one hand a new addition to the collection is always important, but high speed internet is quite desirable in my opinion too. While it's a big investment now, it will give you many hours of entertainment, research, email, etc. for many years.

    $1200 Shocked

Have you tried Airenet? I think it uses a little dish like sat TV. My Sister said it was a fair deal.
