Chatco Mills Bomb Empty Chatco Mills Bomb

I recently received my first Mills Bomb from one of our members...thanks Mike 2 thumbs up ...and I couldn't be happier with it. I've handled them before but I'm still amazed at the sheer weight of them. It is 1943 dated, has great patina, and remnants of the original painted markings.

I also like how these intimidate the lesser informed...I explain that it is deactivated yet they run like hell when the pin is pulled. It was good for a chuckle Very Happy

Ahhh man.... I've been looking for a Chatco No36... you're lucky. That's a nice example. Is there a marking on the body of the grenade? I have some No36's marked "M" for Montreal Munitions, "FW" for Frost and Woods, and "G" for Galt but have yet been able to find a Chatco marked example. I am assuming that the body will be marked with a "C".

Where are they marked on the body? I haven't had time to look at it in detail yet.

The opposite side of the safety lever below the filler screw.

Yep, I see it now...marked with a C. It is stamped under the green band below the filler screw. Thanks man!

That's it.... that's the one maker that eludes me. Eventually I'll find one.
