I know what the veterans guard of Canada is. I'm curious if any one can tell me what this pillow is for, and why it has a Veterans guard emblem on it.

Souvenir pillow shams were very popular during the Second World War. They were made by several methods, including embroidered and flocked or sprayed, and printed. Your pillow is a nice example of a souvenir pillow with the Veterans' Guard badge.

Strictly souvenir. Sold at many retail stores, like Eatons, Simpsons, etc.

I have 9 variations of VGC pillow covers, and know of others. The closest sample I have to yours in colour is all felt cloth, not the silk material.

Actually the colour on this one is badly faded. Originally it was red not pinkish. I would be interested to see some of the other variations, you should post some pics.
