Good afternoon everyone. I just found your website today while I was researching a bayonete that I recently acquired. I'm looking for any info I can get on the history of the piece. It belonged to my Father-in laws father.
As far as I can understand, it is a model p1893, circa 1894. There were only 1000 made by Wilkinson of London, England, specifically for the Dominion of Canada's Department of Militia and Defense. It was designed to fit the .303" Martini-Metford MKII rifle.
As I'm not a collector and have no background in this area I'm looking for help.
Incidently, in case you're wondering .... No! I'm not a broker or scavenge hunter, I simply would like info.
Thanks, Skip.
