Picked this up last week for $100. I had 3 to choose from and this one screamed out at me. The other 2 were GSW lids and looked, typically what I've seen around in local shops and antique stores. The colour on this one was much darker and had a nice patina. I know some of the basics ( stamps, makers, liners, rivets etc. ) but am unclear on a few details... mainly there is no stamp on the shell. It appears to be a combat helmet and also has a name "G Sellers No. L 1210 B Coy". I thought "B coy" could most likely be associated with "B Company The Lorne Scots". Any comments or insight would be greatly appreciated![img][/img]

Welcome aboard. Is there a particular period or unit that you collect?
Cheers,

Re: New Collector...First Helmet
Thanks John! At the moment ( as I have just started ) my goal is to obtain a nice example of a WWI and a WWII basic combat helmet. If I were to pick any unit I might consider anything from London ON. I have a WWII lid ( and I have yet to post that picture ). Any information on where to find them etc would be greatly appreciated.

Serial L1210 can be attributed to the Saskatoon Light Infantry if that is indeed a WW2 Number in there..

Wow! that's a great start... where did you find that? I check government records and found nothing.
