Hi,I've come accross the name of Lt Joseph Maurice Rousseau, who met his end during operation Loyton whilst serving with the 2nd SAS. His parent formation was 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and he had held the rank of Captain there. Does anyone know if he was Canloan ??, or maybe point me in the direction to find out if he was.

Re: Canloan or not Canloan ??
Rousseau was not a CanLoan officer in the full sense of the term. He wasn't part of the program whcih started quite early in the war and did not hold one of the special regimental numbers assigned to these officers. Rousseau was assigned, on temporary duty, to the British.
Have you seen this photo of the two brothers?

Re: Canloan or not Canloan ??
Hi, Thank you for that, were there many Canadian 1st Para that were assigned to the SAS ??, or was he the only one ??.
If he wasn,t Canloan, would he have carried his Canadian 1st Para insignia, or 2nd SAS ??
