I got this at a local auction yesterday. According to some quick research, it is a short piece from a 13 panel bunting dating from around 1899. Used for patriotic parades and events. Sad that only one of three flags are displayable, but it is still a nice find. The one good flag measures approx. 30" x 16".

A number of years ago I was able to purchase 2 pieces, one the same as you with only one good flag and the other was a strip of 15......
I used one of the flags as a background for mounting some rare Canadian medals....

Very nice! I'm tempted to do something similar with this one. I've been thinking about connecting the two half chunks to make one flag. Seems foolish to waste them.
I was wondering if they came in longer strips...two references online said 13, but I was sure there would be no standard amount. These probably came from the factory on huge rolls and snipped as required.
