    Ribbon bar Empty Ribbon bar

Post by Cameraguy Mon Jun 23, 2014 8:00 pm

Hey guys. For those who care to answer, does anyone know what a typical Lt. of the NNSH's may have had as a ribbon bar from 1939-1945? I know there are many different circumstances therefore different bars, but again...a typical ribbon bar. If you do know, would you have a set or a grouping available?
    Cheers !

Hi Al, The typical service medals awarded for service in NW Europe 1939-45 would be the 39-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-45 War Medal. If the individual had been in the UK long enough he would have also qualified for the Defence Medal. The CVSM should have the silver maple leaf device for overseas service. NOTE, If you are doing an impression for a re-enactment, the ribbons for some of these were not available until after the war, as they were not yet approved.
