    Beverage dispenser Empty Beverage dispenser

    Post by jholl72 Fri Jul 04, 2014 5:22 pm

    Hey guys,
Someone dropped this off for me, no markings other than the instructions sticker on the back, which makes me question whether this is even military. Looks like it could be 50's or 60's vintage.
Is it military and what era? I've turned up nothing so far in my search.

It certainly looks like the coffee/juice dispensers we use today. The time frame of late 1950's or 1960's seems to also be correct going by the style.

As for no distinguishing markings, I see no reason the military wouldn't have purchased a commercial pattern dispenser and repainted it to suit their needs.

It will be interesting to read other peoples opinions.

Agree with "37patt".  It looks awfully familiar to the ones I used in the service, before they were replaced with the squarish brown plastic ones sometime in the '90's.  The only differences that I noted between the one in the original picture and the later ones is the design of the cover and spigot; the later ones having a more insulated cover and a lever spigot instead of what looks like a push-button spigot.

I knew I could count on a few of you vets that may have used these! It does indeed have a push button spigot on it. A couple of more pics just for interest sakes.
