The flash has blurred some of the stamping, but I don’t think 922 is 1922 manufacture. I think it’s a manufacturer code for the company that made the hat. In WW2 British berets you can decipher the year of manufacture from similar stampings but I don’t think that’s the case here.
Why make hats in 1922 when there was probably tons made in the war and left over.
