I'm on the lookout for the coloured peel-and-stick Canada flags used on DND vehicles during the '70s and '80s. Need four. If you can provide, PM me so we can negotiate a price. Thanks.

So.....nobody's got these items tucked away in their spares/sales box, eh?? It doesn't have to be four in total. Even if you just have one or two, I'll take 'em.

The original decals for the CF vehicles was 6x3 as Infanteer has mentioned. The NSN is 7690-21-868-2606.

There are a number of listings for this size flag in both red/white and in tactical subdued colours. I have to admit I did not notice the tactical subdued variant in Canadian service, but I can tell you that in the past decade or so the CF was not that big on the red/white ones either.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but if those tri-service decals are available for sale or trade, I do have a project that could use them.

    Good day all,

    Thanks for your replies.

Bill, thanks, but at this time I'm not looking for the Tri-Service decals.

Infanteer, yes, the 3 x 6 flags are what I'm looking for. Please PM me with your price and postage and we'll see if we can't do a deal. Thanks.

For cmpman, wasn't aware the flags were made in tac colours (I'm assuming black on OD?). Way back when, when the bosses decided to do away with the coloured flags, all we did in Gagetown was make up a stencil and paint the flag on the front of the hood of the 5/4 T, the bumper of the ML and, if memory serves, on the lower windshield of the Iltis. Can't remember if we did it on the rear of each of those vehicles or not.

I had the same experience wrt the red/white flags. I ordered in enough to do the section, as the flags were still in the Brigade orders as a vehicle marking. My ET however squashed the idea. We generally also used the more tactical stencil/painted on flags. As far as I know, the ebay tactical flags are just fantasy pieces, but would be preferable to the stencil. I may order some to install on my MLVW project just for variety.
