     Is this a repro? It has all the tell tale signs. If it is original it has to be a rare shoulder flash.

    Fantasy piece? He had two of these plus a bullion wire crest. They may have been an association blazer badge. Whatever they are, they were not authorized.
    I can't see these being worn on bd, maybe someone had them made up for blue patrols?

    Thats an awful lot of work for a repop! I tend to believe that our guys had some pretty elaborate items made,which maybe were not regular issue. Who's to say it is authentic or not,unless they saw the piece being re prod themselves? THIS is a big part of the reason why keeping the history of a piece is so important.As little or seemingly unimportant a piece of information it may seem to be sometimes...write it down and keep it with the piece. Just my two cents worth,

    Have a reply. He has never seen one either but says some were done as private purchase after the war. Likely never worn. Tempted to bid as I like anything related to 8th recce but it is pricey for something unauthorized. Cheers Brian
