Hello, here are my purchases in Webb. WW1

Anybody has already seen this color on a sling for Lee-Enfield?

Nice stuff! Your rifle sling has been dyed, it should be the same colour as the other web pieces.

Thank you Ed, I said to myself the same thing.
But the seller tells me that she was Dark khaki or chocolate-brown ... It is not really what I received.

It almost seems like the brass ends of the rifle strap have been added to the web. The web also seems like "Indian" made web from WWII? Again difficult to tell from the photo.

my purchases in Webb. WW1 Empty Sling

Post by edstorey Thu Mar 19, 2015 7:19 pm

The metalwork on the sling even looks suspect as it does not match other known pieces from the same era.

It might be a modern copy with a false date stamp. The web often feels "soft" and of a looser weave.

Great collection thegate! I love the P08 frogs and the D-shaped mess tin!

I believe the sling is a modern Indian reproduction which came onto the market a few years ago (They are all dated 1913 for some reason)...

If you only paid $5 for it, I think you still did well!

    Thank you Wgrenadier,
Yes I paid $5 for the sling, you have just confirmed me that it is a repro.

I look for ammo pouch, left and right and pouch for the shovel.
