Canadian Gas Ointment #5

I have seen these tins many times but this one I had to pick up for its uniqueness. This tin has a blue sticker pasted to the front of a Ointment #2 Tin ? .... tubes inside are the #5 type . Very unusual to see this ?

Very interesting, I have yet to see a tin like this with a newer label on a earlier Mk tin.

Some kind of recycling of the times it would seem.

Just out of curiosity, is "C.C.C.Co 53" the maker and date of the tin?

I think the 7/40 is the date of the tin. I believe the Mk V tins started to show up around 1942. I think this tin was pasted with the label around 1941 as the transition happened to the newer tin ?? I believe the 53 and other descriptive numbers (Including the 7/40) may be patent registration information.
