I've resently purchased a armband that has the tartan of the black watch and has black watch sewn on it in red .I'm trying to find when it was made around I looked around and saw that it might of been for the regiments 100th birthday or for pipers when they served as stretcher bearers and help would be great thanks

Is it like this one? My understanding is that these were used by recruits who had not been issued uniforms.

Not sure I would put much into their description. Emedals are interested in maximizing their profits. Note the caveats in the letter: appears to be... First WW. Here is a link to an article on recruit armbands. Further, if they are FWW, Which Black Watch Battalion? There were three Canadian ones and 10 imperial ones not to count the other dominions and colonies that may have had a Black Watch battalion. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Somewhere there is an image of recruits wearing the armband early in the Second WW.

I agree with you Bill, the item in question looks to be a second world war recruitment arm band. Great article on them by the way, thanks for adding the link.

As for emedals, I time and again see errors in their listings.
