Canadian VC Up for Sale.......

In the latest DNW Auction catalogue the Victoria Cross to Lieutenant Colonel David Vivian Currie, is up for sale...... I hope that someone in Canada including the War Museum can raise the funds to keep it in Canada..... Or maybe the Government will put an export ban on this piece of Canadian History......

Interesting thanks for sharing, I did hear on the grapevine there was a VC coming up for sale, has this one been sold on the open market before or is it a new offering? whats the estimate?

The deck is pretty well stacked against any potential person from outside of Canada ever owning it, so I would imagine that the CWM will be pulling out all of the stops in order to acquire it for their collection.

Perhaps I missed something, but where in the news release did it specifically say that the medal group was leaving the country?

It will require an Export permit that will be issued by the Liberal Government...... Enough Said......

It has to be held for 1 year at which time it will be offered to Museums etc. if there is no interest then it can be released for export.....
