Recently purchased this relatively clean example of a local Air Raid Precautions service helmet. Based on my limited knowledge and research it appears to be a combat grade Brodie style helmet shell, rejected for combat use and assigned for ARP use. I purchased it from a family member of the ARP serviceman who served in the role in Sackville, New Brunswick during WWII. It has the following features:
- No manufacturer's stamp or markings (possible manufacturer General Steel Wares -G.S.W.?).
- Constructed of non magnetic steel.
- Chin strap lugs are riveted, not welded.
- Interior liner is stamped "7 1/2, V.M.C., II, 1942" on one strap.

Thanks, and enjoy the hobby!
