    Gentlemen,

I would like to ask your opinions on the titles posted below. Thumbnails are clickable.

With regards to the 'ATHLONE' and 'DEVONSHIRE' slip ons, I am at a loss as to what these are. They come from a man who was in COTC for a while but ended up going to the Canadian Scottish as a private after the Battle for the Scheldt. As they seem to be slip ons to me, I think there may be a COTC connection. Your input is appreciated.

    Regards

    Assorted shoulder titles Empty Badges

Athlone and Devonshire are associated with the Khaki University. You really need to purchase a copy of Fabric of War to determine the provenance of the other badges you have.

Hi Ed, thank you for your message regarding the slip ons. The book is on the way but hasn't arrived yet. In the meantime, what is a forum for if not to help and learn from eachother?

I have another one. The top two sets for 3 Div, though different in colour and size, have ironclad provenance. The bottompair does not. What are your thoughts?

Assorted shoulder titles Empty Fabric of War

Glad to hear that you have bought the book, it is both expensive and heavy so it must be costing you a 'King's Ransom' in postage to Europe. I am holding onto two copies myself to bring over to Europe for a friend as soon as things open up again. Fabric of War is an valuable resource to assist in accurately determining the provenance and history of Canadian cloth insignia so once you have the book you will understand that having the badges in front of you to make a determination is better than trying to assess a photograph on a computer screen. Happy collecting.
