Boer War Canadian Swagger Stick

I thougth I would share some photos of a Boer War swagger stick from my collection. The stick has a curve to it from being carried and the tip is quite worn. The head of the stick consists of a Canadian .303 Casing which has been chromed (head stamp is Dominion Cartridge Mk II) and has a miniature Boer War era Canada badge affixed to it.

Can anyone shed any light on this stick? Mike?

Nice piece but could be used by any militia unit as the badge was a General Service badge not only for the Boer War.....

I thought the badge was specific to South Africa.
