Here is a war-time dated Mk.II in post-war configuration. The decal is for the RCEME Branch Camp as far as I have been able to tell from my research so far. I knew it had to do with something along the lines of RCEME based on the top three colors. The last color threw me for a while. I was thinking it was green, but it was actually blue. The shellac used to seal the decal aged to a green tint. I know, rookie mistake/error in judgement.
Helmet is also named to R.W. Gordon SR14737. There is also the acronym C.A.T.S.(Canadian Army Trade School) written on the rim in pencil. I was able to find out that he passed on in 1993 at the age of 64.
I have had this helmet for quite a while and never could ID the flash until lately. Since my main interest is the RCEME, I'm glad I did not get frustrated and sell it!
