1916 Gas Hood and Bag Empty 1916 Gas Hood and Bag

I thought I'd share with you my latest treasure. I've finally acquired a rare WW1 Gas Hood and 1916 carrying dated bag! These predate the Small Box Respirators and not many have survived.

    Very nice gas mask!
The last one I saw was at Marway several years ago, pretty sure I couldn't afford that one either.

This is the second one I have seen someone acquire in the last few months. I am very envious. I am after one myself, but have never seen one for sale! If you happen upon another one(I know, not likely) please keep me in mind.

1916 Gas Hood and Bag Empty PH Hoods

    Post by GCR817 Fri May 27, 2011 12:26 am

    Hi Jeff,

The first one you mention is likely the example that I was chasing and lost (marked PH on the front and the bag named to 49th Bn). By pure fluke, I chanced upon this second one and was happy to grab it.

Should fate bring a third, I'll let you know.

    Hi Geoff,
I think that is the other one I am referring to. Even to have the chance to buy one has been elusive for me. That is a top shelf item for sure and a real rarity. Please do keep me in mind should another one turn up, thanks!
