This lanyard was given to me by a local vet at our local Legion. All I know is that he wore it in the 1960-70 while serving in the Sherbrooke hussars. Can anyone tell me what it is for?

NORMALLY FOR A WHISTLE BUT WHEN WORN AS A RGT ACCOUTREMENT THEY WHERE ATTACHED AROUND THE SHOULDER AND TO THE UPPER POCKET BUTTON.White ones where worn by artillery in the 50s and 60s for sure.
