Family members

I was wondering can anyone help me or give me tips on how to find info on my family member i have 2 of them that are americanand both got papers saying they where drafted but idk if they where in ww1 is there anyway i could find out,if anyone has any info it would help alot and thanks, and i know this is mostly for canadian military stuff.
