Flood 2013

I was volunteering in Sundre, Alberta yesterday and took a few snaps of the situation there.

That's a horrible situation there. Is there any threat to your house?

No threat to my house...Bowden is situated on a high plain along the QEII. The Red Deer river is not far away though. I was at Dickson Dam just west of here this morning, and they have all sluices wide open right now. Red Deer is in for some heavy flooding this morning.

Interesting you should post this... my father has been trying to get hold of my cousin in High River without any success.

Most of High River has been evacuated and there is no power or telephone there right now.......

Thanks for that  Mike. My cousin is out safe and sound. He is a retired coach driver but still an active school bus driver. He was helping with some of the evacuations. Good to hear from him that he is safe. Was a relief to my father as well.
