    Hi everybody,

    New find: these trousers dated 1940.
    Do you know what does the marking beside the C mean ("...ready clean...") ?

    That is the C broad arrow which is equivalent to the British broad arrow. It is a Canadian military/government property stamp.

    No, it's not a problem with your English, I made a mistake when I read your post.

    That is a good question, I'm not familiar with that stamp. Looks like "Ever ready clean(ing?)" It's my understanding that BD did not get cleaned very often so maybe it's a stamp applied after going through some sort of commercial cleaning process? Did they even have dry cleaning during the war?
