Help with Air Force insignia

Hi guys,
A friend has found this pile of insignia and asked for help IDing them.
The only one I'm unfamiliar with is the red one at the bottom with the CVI on the crown band and NF in the body. I know it's airforce it its stumping me fro there. Probably an easy one and I'll regret asking afterwards lol.

The CVI could be Collegiate Vocational Institute ..... perhaps the NF is Niagara Falls. Maybe this school had a RCAF cadet unit ? Just a thought! If the items were picked up this area of Ontario it may be a lead for you to explore?

Another thought ... it may not be military at all. "Through hard work to the stars" may be the school motto which is coincidently the RCAF motto as well ? Check this ebay link
