Ottawa Shops

Good day all,

Taking a trip to Ottawa in about a week's time. Plan on being in the area from Jun. 7th to Jun. 10th.

Does anyone know of retail stores that carry badges and related militaria? All I need is an address and hours the shop is open during that time frame (if you happen to know it). Google Maps can get me there.

Any assistance the members can provide is much appreciated.

Sorry to disappoint Ian, but there really isn't much. There was a shop in the Byward market, but it was mostly surplus stuff.

Thanks, Bill. Bit of a shame. What ever happened to "Invicta International"? If I remember correctly, it was located in the centre of town, west of Banks St. However, it has been about 20 years since I've been there and for the life of me, can't remember exactly what street it was located on. All I recall is walking south along Banks then west from there.

Guess I'll have to content myself with the War Museum and the GFG Museum.

Sorry for being a little late to this one. I live in Ottawa and can say without a doubt, there are no militaria type shops. The Antiques places may have a medal or two but precious little else, too hit and miss for my liking.

Ashbrooke has moved to Merivale rd somewhere. They have some stuff once and a while. Good luck.

Thanks to all for the information you provided. I'm back on the Island now, and it turns out I was much too busy with other activities to get down to those venues.

Not a problem Ian, to be honest, you likely didn't miss much at all. Just avoided wasting time. I used to spend all day Saturday scouring the cities antique shops and such, I don't recall ever picking much up.
