1943 Dated Electrical Stethoscope

Hi guys,

I picked this up today. I have not come across one of these before. I think it may have been used by the RCE to diffuse mines etc. It has a magnetic end which would attaches to the item you're working on. Opinions on its use are always welcome. Interesting piece of kit!

cool piece of kit, perhaps for even larger items than mines, but I am just guessing

I looked around on the net yesterday and thought I commented but guess I forgot.

Very interesting piece. I saw quite a few images of EOD guys using stethoscopes on bombs, but nothing resembling an electronic one. It would make sense to me that this would be the evolution in defusing such an object.
