Hello forum members! First post here, and I wanted to show off a new acquisition. This is one of the missing pieces in my airborne smock collection, the Jacket, Airborne, Nylon used by Canadian paras in the 1950's and a direct successor to the Denison smock.
This one I was extremely pleased to discover is named to a 1 Bn PPCLI private who was wounded in Korea in October 1952. Now I suspect that this garment was issued to him after the Korean war, and I'm hoping members might be able to confirm this. I've yet to see a pic of these garments in Korea.
Also, I'm not great at IDing Canadian wings - this one looks late 40s-early 50s to me, but I'm not certain. Opinions welcome.
Cheers,
D
