help to identify vimy pin

hello all, i live in rural manitoba and metal detecting is one of my hobbies. i dug this little pin up and cannot find anything on it. so just wondering if anyone on here has seen one before or know of its history. When i first found it I immediately passed it off as junk jewellery, until i got home and decided to clean it up a bit that i noticed the fine lines on the maple leaf and some lettering on the ribbon. I have found a few military related items around town, even found a couple right in my back yard. as much as it is nice to find gold rings and silver coins, stuff you can take to the bank so to speak. i absolutely do back flips when i find items like this.
