1956 Cap, Peaked, Winter

Just got this one in the mail today. It is in fairly minty condition overall. A good $5 spent I would say.

I have a question though.

Since this cap is dated 1956, why would Kings crown buttons be on it? Using up extra buttons, oversight?

After the decision was made to switch to the "Queen's Crown" it apparently took several years before the change over was complete. I have heard that some units didn't have QC badges until the late 50's. I can then speculate that the same situation applied to buttons and other uniform insignia as well.

I would agree with infanteer on that. I have a couple of uniforms that have mixed crowns on their insignia. The changeover was not immediate.
