Air Ministry Marked Sockets Empty Air Ministry Marked Sockets

Had these two odd tools for a while now and still have no idea of their purpose. Both are Air Ministry marked and dated 1941. About 4 inches long and small socket size. I put them on a forum for air force collectors, but only got a scathing reply that I was fishing for info(yes) and did not want to contribute(not now jerks).

Only thing I can think of is they were used to open panels some sort on aircraft? Missing the little bars that go through the holes on the top to spin the sockets...probably almost any little bar could be used though.

Hmm I have used these before but the name escapes me at the moment. They weren't used for panels but for removing things like exhaust stack nuts etc. There should be a small bar that slides into the holes but these can be replaced.

I have similar modern tools like these. I have heard them being called tee sockets and spinners over the years. Same principle...different era. It is nice to know what these were made for. Thanks for the ID on these!
