    Trying to Identify Belt Buckle Beaver Empty Trying to Identify Belt Buckle Beaver

    Hi,
    I've just joined so I hope I'm posting in the right spot.
    I have part of a belt buckle that I thought would be Canadian but not finding anything the same.
    Hoping someone here will know what this is.
    Any information appreciated.

    I will also post a photo posting tutorial for you to follow.
    Unfortunately the software for this forum is less than user friendly for posting pics.

    It is a part of an interlocking belt buckle.
    Schould be the Royal Canadian Regiment if i am not mistaken.

    Sipke, I can tell you with little doubt that the pictured belt buckle is not RCR. The buckle has, to the best of my knowledge, always had the regimental cypher, "VRI" surmounted by the Royal Crown.

    My thoughts were initially for R22eR, however it is missing the "22", circlet and coat of arms on the beaver and the crown above. So I'm not sure which regiment it is for.

    I contacted someone that said the same as Spike, this isn't from the RCR
    I think that with the other part missing it might be near impossible to figure this one out. I'll keep looking and if I do find out I will post here.

    It might be an older Canadian Engineers belt buckle, here is a more modern looking Engineers belt buckle.

    Could be an early Canadian Engineers buckle. Eg, pre RCE.

    It is certainly not RCE EIIR.   Perhaps half of a generic 'CANADA' buckle for the white buff leather 1888 Pattern Slade Wallace Waistbelt?

    I was thinking Military Staff Clerks. But with only this 1/2 it is difficult to say.

    Bill, I shy away from from the R22R as their beaver has a crown over it's back normally.

    Links to a couple of R 22e R belt buckles. It appears the male portion in question is R 22e R. And both beavers by themselves and beavers with the R 22e R beaver crown were both worn.
