I just got this a few weeks ago and now that its out of the freezer and ready to go I thought I would share some pics. This is my first Militia periode tunic and a great addition to my Eastern Townships militaria collection. The tunic is dated 1892 and is was made by W. E. Sanford MFG. Co and has the initials E.H on the inside. Enjoy!

Re: 79th Shefford battalion tunic
Hi Lorne,
Pretty nice tunic. I'm currently serving with Les Fusiliers de Sherbrooke and I've been in charge of our regimental museum for many years. We have many artefacts (badges, uniforms, etc) from the Pre WWI era of many different Eastern Townships units. If you want to share information or pay us a visit, please get in touch with me. Cheers ! Capt S.P. Dubuc - Les Fusiliers de Sherbrooke.

Re: 79th Shefford battalion tunic
Hi Lorne,
I may be able to use this tunic in an upcoming, 2-volume, history of Victorian-era Canadian uniforms. Can you re-shoot the front and back? Best results come from laying them on a white sheet bt try to have the camera as much as possibe directly over the uniform to avoid the skewing effect that occurs when the camera is at an angle. If possible the sleeves should be arranged close to the body so no light shows through.
Cheers,
Clive

Thanks Lorne,
Feel free to include any other Victoria-era uniforms. Don't worry about background or anythins as I will close-crop the uniform.
Cheers,
C

Re: 79th Shefford battalion tunic
Hi Clive,
I would include any other victorian era uniform if i had anymore in my collection. Sadly at this time its the only one I have. Although I know someone who might have a victorian era unifom that might interest you for your book. I'll speak to him and see if he's willing to share pics.
Thanks Lorne jr
